Black Excellence Day - Jan 15th

“Black Excellence Day was created by the Ninandoo Society and takes place on January 15th each year, or the preceding Friday if it falls on a weekend or holiday… As a lead up to Black History Month, Black Excellence Day is a day to rejoice Black history and learn about Black stories, Black art and Black people, and a day to stand in solidarity with Black Canadians.” - Ninandoo Society

 Speaking of Excellence….

We know that some schools are encouraging poster or door competitions for Black History Month (either in their classrooms or school wide). This school printed winning designs on t-shirts and gave a bookstore gift-card to the winning classroom.
